Are you a highly organised individual who is passionate about music? You could be the right person to join us!
Misfits Music, a Birmingham based music charity is recruiting a Projects, Administration and Marketing Assistant to help us deliver fantastic projects in Birmingham and The Black Country that bring people together through group music making. Established in 2018, Misfits Music Foundation provides opportunities for people of all ages to gain the wide ranging health and wellbeing benefits of making music together by playing instruments or singing. We are based in Moseley, Birmingham but provide projects across the region.
This varied, hands ons on role will include assisting us to project manage our community music projects, being the first point of contact for participants. You'll stay in regular contact with members of the music groups and group leaders to ensure that music, lyrics and other materials are all ready for rehearsals. On rehearsal days you may find yourself assisting our music leaders by setting up rooms, preparing Covid safety precautions etc. You'll also learn how to become a fundraiser for a charity, working with us to develop projects and funding proposals. You will work closely with our Marketing Manager to create engaging content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, as well as updating our website and getting hands on in the community by handing out flyers to encourage new people to take part.
Through this role you will become a key part of our team, helping Misfits Music Foundation to grow, develop new projects and become a major provider of community music activities in The West Midlands.
Attending internal and external training courses will be a key part of the placement and will include Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults Training and Emergency First Aid at Work training.
We are passionate about supporting young practitioners from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds, and we would particularly welcome applications from all walks of life, including those who identify as LGBTQI+. We will happily make adjustments for candidates with mobility issues or disabilities. There will be some core days/ half days, to be agreed with the successful candidate, but there will be some flexibility in the schedule to allow for other responsibilities e.g. caring, as needed.
