MISFITS Music NEWSLETTER 2022!

Hi there,

We'd like to thank you for becoming a Misfits supporter - your support is vital to us being able to bring music-making to the local community! Here's a quick update on what we've been up to this year.

What have we been up to?

We have had a busy winter term this year with many events taking place. We have had the pleasure of celebrating our fourth birthday, putting on a Bring and Sing night and having our yearly Christmas concerts and gigs!

Happy Birthday To Us!

We celebrated turning 4 in November! It has been an amazing four years full of expansion. celebrations and creating wonderful music with friends!

Our New Coordination Assistant

In September we were joined by Ilhan Adam who is our new Coordination Assistant. Ilhan has been working behind the scenes on all things admin, marketing and project coordination. Members will most likely see her at sessions from time to time and will also recognize her as our first point of contact with all things regarding emails and queries. Welcome to the team Ilhan!

The Rock Collective Bring and Sing Night

We held our much loved "Bring and Sing" session this term which allowed members to bring friends and family for a fun session of playing and singing along. There was a great turn out of familiar and new faces and Rod and Reuben led the session with some much loved tunes!

Bearwood and Moseley Light Switch

Both Bearwood Rock Collective and Moseley Misfits had the opportunity to sing at the light switches in their respective areas. Both groups played instruments and sung carols with a crowd of local people as the countdown for the Christmas lights began!

The Misfits Christmas Concert

Our Misfits groups had a lovely time playing outside at The MAC where the crowd listened to a variety of christmas carols and classic songs. It was great to see friends, family and strangers enjoy the music our members played together.

The Rock Collective Christmas Gig

Both our Rock groups had the opportunity to play their gig at The Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath. There were a variety of christmas songs played by both groups to a sold out venue of friends and family.

Thank you for sticking with us this year! We hope 2023 brings us an even better year, with lots of celebrations and music making!
