A discussion on alternate
funding strategies

for freelance creatives/artists or
organisations working with communities

Are you finding opportunities for funding are getting more difficult to find? The pots seem smaller and keeping projects running has become harder? Join us on Monday 22nd September for a presentation on exploring new funding strategies with opportunities for networking.

The afternoon session (2pm - 4pm) will take place online, we will send a Zoom link out on the 22nd September, feel free to bring a cuppa and a snack with you to our Zoom room.

Over the past few years, accessing arts funding has become increasingly difficult and with Arts Council having paused their funding it is more important now than ever to exploring alternate income generating sources to pave the way forward for more stable creative future. We'll look into a range of alternative grant-based funders, crowdfunding, fundraising events and earned income and more, all as ways to make community and engaged arts projects sustainable.

The session will be facilitated by Rob Jones, Artistic Director of Misfits Music Institute. With going on a decade’s worth of experience fundraising for this organisation and other community organisations, he has an in-depth knowledge of Birmingham’s funding opportunities and the challenges of fundraising in a post-covid climate.
