About The Misfits Music Foundation

Misfits Music Foundation, known as Misfits Music Institute day-to-day was founded by Rob Jones and Reuben Penny in 2018 to bring the power of group music making to people in Birmingham and The Black Country. We provide open and non-judgmental spaces for people to get together and improve their wellbeing through music. Our organisation now employs a group of freelancer music leaders, has 4 staff members and we have a dedicated board of 6 Trustees.

A large indoor space with a high, curved, glass ceiling, filled with musicians and an audience. The musicians are seated with sheet music, and some are playing instruments; the audience is seated facing them. The room has brick walls and wooden flooring, with some decorations hanging from a balcony area on the left side.

The Role

We are looking for a driven and proactive Creative Marketing & Communications Officer to work to increase our number of beneficiaries across our core community music groups. You will work closely with the Programme Manager, Artistic Director and Music Director to produce engaging content across social media, website, print and email. This role suits someone who enjoys storytelling, is visually creative, and can confidently manage multiple projects at once.

During this role you will lead the development and delivery of a dynamic Marketing Strategy aimed at growing our community and revenue. This includes increasing membership across core groups, driving ticket sales, and scaling both product sales and charitable donations through an increased public and digital presence.
