Donate an Instrument

Instrument donations are temporarily paused

We’ve been incredibly fortunate to receive so many donated instruments recently, and our team is currently busy getting them ready for their new homes.

While we work through our existing collection and introduce a new donation system, we’re taking a short pause from accepting further instruments.

Have an instrument you’d like to donate?

Join our waiting list and we’ll let you know when donations reopen, along with details of the instruments and equipment we’re currently looking for.Our work is about more than learning notes or rehearsing for a performance. Making music together can create friendships, confidence, belonging and a shared sense of achievement.

Funding helps us remove barriers to participation, develop inclusive projects, create new opportunities in communities and give people the chance to grow creatively, whether they are picking up an instrument for the first time, returning to music after many years or developing skills that could lead to future experiences in the arts.

Give your old instrument a new home

Donating an instrument to Misfits Music can help it find a new home with someone who will benefit from the opportunity to make music.

Depending on the instrument and its condition, it may be:

  • Rehomed through our shop to raise funds to support our charitable work

  • Made available affordably to a participant

  • Provided free to someone who would otherwise struggle to access an instrument

Where required, donated instruments may be repaired or restored by our skilled volunteers before being rehomed.

What can I donate?

The instruments and equipment we are able to accept changes depending on demand, storage and what will be most beneficial to our community.

Please note that we are unable to accept upright, grand or baby grand pianos.

Thank you for helping us give pre-loved instruments the chance to make more music.
